Historic Photos

These photos were submitted by Russ Tonner, the grandson of Robert and Elizabeth Tonner from Braintree who owned 21 Rock St in 1938.
“My Grandmother left the house to walk down to the Florence Tea room to call my Grandfather in Braintree to tell not to come down the weather is going to be bad. On the way to the Tea Room the next door neighbors told her to come in their house to get out of the storm. She kept walking. Good choice those neighbors were washed away. She did go into another neighbor’s house only to be rescued out of a second story window in a row boat.
They sold the house in ’39 because my grandmother wouldn’t go back.”
